Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how CourseGeni by Takxila ("CourseGeni", "we", "us") collects, uses and protects personal data when you use CourseGeni by TAKXILA at www.coursegeni.com and its learner portals (the "Service"). It follows India's Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and its Rules.
1. Who this policy covers
- Customers: organisations and individuals who sign up to create courses, and their team members (Owners, Admins, Course Creators, Reviewers).
- Learners: people invited by a customer to take courses on that customer's portal.
- Visitors: people who browse our website.
For learner data, the customer who invited the learner decides why and how it is used. The customer is the Data Fiduciary and we act as its Data Processor, following its instructions. Learners should contact that organisation first about their data; we will help it respond.
2. Data we collect

We do not collect or store your card, UPI or bank details. Payments are handled by Razorpay, which is PCI-DSS compliant.
3. Why we use it
- To create and run your account and workspace.
- To turn your documents and prompts into courses using AI, and to let you edit, download and publish them.
- To deliver courses to learners and track progress, scores and certificates for the customer.
- To process payments, issue GST invoices and meet tax and accounting laws.
- To send service emails: invitations, reminders, receipts, renewal notices, security alerts.
- To provide support, prevent fraud and misuse (including free-plan abuse), and keep the Service secure.
- To improve the Service using usage statistics.
- With your consent, to send product news and offers. You can unsubscribe anytime.
4. AI processing
When you generate or edit a course with AI, the relevant part of your content is sent to third-party AI model providers to produce the result. We send only what is needed for that task. We do not use your content to train AI models, and we choose providers that do not use it to train theirs. Learners never interact with AI on CourseGeni.
AI can make mistakes. Content created or changed by AI is flagged so you can review it before publishing.
5. Who we share data with
We do not sell personal data. We share it only with service providers who help us run CourseGeni, under contracts that require them to protect it:

We may also share data if the law requires it, to protect rights and safety, or as part of a merger or sale of the business (with notice to you).
Some of our service providers may store data outside India. Where they do, we use providers with appropriate safeguards and follow any restrictions set by the Government of India.
6. How long we keep data

7. Your rights
You can ask us to:
- Access a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how it is used.
- Correct or update inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Delete your data when it is no longer needed (subject to legal retention, such as invoices).
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. This does not affect processing already done.
- Nominate another person to exercise your rights if you die or become unable to.
- Raise a grievance with us, and then with the Data Protection Board of India if you are not satisfied.
To make a request, email support@coursegeni.com. We may need to verify your identity. Learners should first contact the organisation that invited them.
8. Security
We use encryption in transit (HTTPS), access controls, separation of each customer's data, role-based permissions, audit logs, and secure payment handling. No system is completely secure. If a personal data breach affects you, we will inform you and the authorities as required by law.
9. Cookies
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and secure, and analytics cookies to understand how the Service is used. You can block non-essential cookies in your browser; essential cookies are needed for the Service to work.
10. Children
CourseGeni is meant for adults and organisations. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 18 without verifiable consent of a parent or guardian. Customers who train learners under 18 must obtain that consent before inviting them.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. We will post the new version here with a new effective date and, for important changes, email account owners.
